Juno Women are an incredible network of women, talented and full of energy, readily making change. Members’ initiatives and personal experiences are all unique; The “Women Inspiring Women” series aims to bring you closer to Juno Women through a sneak peek of members’ worlds. Today, Juno House is honored to present you with Rebecca Beguería, a gynecologist specializing in sterility and assisted reproduction. Rebecca helps fulfill her patients’ motherhood dreams. Her cheerful, lively, and empathetic nature allows Rebecca’s patients to feel her closeness while using her expertise to direct them in the right direction. “Being able to evaluate, prevent, and, if necessary, intervene in the reproductive health of women who ask for my help gives me a lot,” says Rebecca. She stresses that today, 15 to 20 percent of women face difficulties with fertility. She hopes to lower the statistics by using her voice and personal experiences to bring awareness to the issue and highlight the need for normalization, dissemination, and prevention. Rebecca has a passion for what she does and possesses a comprehensive view of healthcare and life in general. If she could give herself a piece of advice ten years ago, she would essentially say, “Rebecca, you’re going to do fine, relax. On the way, take your hand off the break, don’t worry a bit… and enjoy it even more”. If you would like to learn more and keep up with Rebecca’s work, you can follow her on social media at @dra.rebecabegueria. Rebeca is located both at Centro Medico Teknon and, recently, opened her own practice.
“You’re the Doctor?”
I do: “Yes. Even though I may look young to you, am a female and wear makeup, I am the Doctor.”
I dream of something as simple as seeing my children grow up healthy and happy in a world where the most basic values make sense again. Love, friendship, empathy, self-esteem, striving for what you want… The truth is that I would like to take them away from the superficial and the immediacy that exists everywhere nowadays.
I am visually restless. I look at everything, and I have a sensitive eye for art and fashion. I enjoy looking. I have always thought that if I hadn’t been a doctor, I would have loved to be a photographer.
Nina Blanc, a brand born during the pandemic and has grown tremendously. A clear example of the opportunities brought by the pandemic. It started with accessories (especially headbands), and now they make super-feminine garments.
I don’t need much to be happy. In regards to my profession, all I ask for is health. That’s the only important thing. Everything else, with effort and attitude, is in our hands. If I think of happiness, I see the ocean, friends, and a good sunset.
I am a gynecologist specializing in assisted reproduction; It has always been clear that I wanted to dedicate myself to it. Being able to evaluate, prevent, and, if necessary, intervene in the reproductive health of women who ask for my help gives me a lot. I have needed reproductive techniques to become a mother, which has allowed me to be even more empathetic with my patients. In addition, I believe that disseminating and informing about reproductive health is still a pending task and a crucial one. The integral/holistic vision of reproduction has to improve every day. Everything you do, what you eat, and how you live has an impact.
Reaching 40 being aware of how fortunate I am to be able to enjoy what I do everyday, both professionally and personally.
More than a failure, it is a task I work on every day: managing my fears, trying not to anticipate and living in the present.
Yes, despite being part of the medical profession, where it is still difficult to separate the vocation from the entrepreneurial vision, I have always needed to lead projects and to contribute my bit to this specialty.
This is a tough one! There are very few women who don’t inspire me about something. On a professional level, I am surrounded by super influential women; I couldn’t name just one. Medicine evolves every day thanks to great women scientists. I follow Adriana Carolina Herrera, Eugenia Silva, and Christy Turlington a good deal if I speak from my fashion-loving side.
I don’t necessarily remember the first day of practice. I do clearly remember my first delivery. I was equal parts shocked and excited. I delivered the baby and knew I was in the right field.
Destiny.
Photography, although I don’t know if it’s that much of a secret…
Painting, if you think I’m talented at it ….
NORMALIZE reproductive health problems. Something widespread nowadays and yet, still “a secret.”
Sports. Three times a week in the company of my friends and our personal trainer.
Rebecca, you’re going to do fine, relax. On the way, take your hand off the break, don’t worry a bit… and enjoy it even more. Don’t leave anything undone.
